Dr. Reid Nakamura was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. After obtaining his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, he went on to complete an internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York. Further continuing his higher learning of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Nakamura became an accomplished specialist having completed residencies in both Emergency and Critical Care at Tufts University, in Massachusetts, and Cardiology at Advanced Veterinary Care Center, in California. Dr. Nakamura obtained Diplomate status in both specialties, and through both residencies has obtained the highest levels of specialization in Emergency and Critical Care and Cardiology. Coast to Coast Cardiology is fortunate to have his expertise to strengthen the team. Dr. Nakamura has worked at multiple emergency and specialty centers throughout the country on both the East and West Coasts.
Dr. Nakamura has published multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals with topics including right atrial hemangiosarcomas, cardiac disease in cats, and clopidogrel therapy in dogs with immune-mediated hemolytic anemia.
In his spare time, Dr. Nakamura loves running and spending time with his dog Yuki.
